Intro to Cameras/ Health and Safety Tutorial

In class, I was shown by the Media Technician, a step by step guide of how to use a camera, safely, for my coursework and how to keep them in good conditions. For example, you should not touch the lens of the camera, as it leaves fingerprints on the camera and destroys the quality of the camerawork.

Then, I turn the camera on and off. After that I was taught how to open and close the shutter, focus the camera, record footage and playing footage. I was shown have to insert two memory cards into the camera, where you put it into the side of the camera.

Furthermore, I learnt how to set up a tripod by extending the tripod’s legs out for a better focus of the camera. Also, I was shown how to unlock the camera from the tripod and take it off, safely.

After this, tutorial I felt I understood the importance of being safe around a camera, as it is vital to understand the function on it and how to keep safe, whilst using it.
